Creme Brulee

Friday night we went to this wonderful restaurant in Manassas and we got the last Creme Brulee. It was divine!

Fluffy Chicken

We saw so many chickens en vogue--they had feather-do's that I don't think most stylists could even imagine!

Singing Hot Dog Men

These guys were a crack up! They were singing between selling their hot dogs--and they were really good!

Children's Dog Show

DOG SHOW! This was a children's dog show. It was so fun to see the kids show off their dogs for different categories--like smiliest dog??? What!

Wilbur!

We loved looking at all the animals at the fair. These were the cleanest piggies ever! The light colored pig is Wilbur. I bet he's dreaming about Charlotte!

Josh and MeKenzie Fife, and Lexy loved the beach. They stayed out forever!

I went to VA Beach too!

I realized that no one had taken a picture of me to prove that I was at the beach, so I held the camera out just to prove that I WAS HERE!

Ft. Story, VA

On Tuesday, August 12, Lexy and I went to Ft. Story, Virginia with our friends, the Fife's. We followed them down in our van and stayed in these units. We had a fun couple of days at Virginia Beach. We saw lots of dolphins in the ocean, little crabs, and long pencil-thin fish.

Fort Niagara

We went on a tour of Ft. Niagara. The French were here, the British were here, the Canadians were here, and the Americans tried to get it too--but things didn't work out....so Thomas Jefferson never got his piece of Canada.

Inside the caves at Lockport

We went on an interesting tour through the Caves of Lockport. While the Erie Canal was very important for transportation, it was also important for providing power to a few businesses. This underground tunnel, or cave adjacent to the Canal took 10 years to build. A train track is above us, and they say they have never heard it pass. We're glad we didn't have to pick ax and dynamite our way through!

Lockport, NY

We visited Lockport, New York along our way. We didn't ride on the boat, but watched it pass through the locks. It was very interesting to see how the locks can raise and lower the water levels so quickly!

Niagara Falls, Canada

We (Mark, Lexy and Jacque) went to Niagara Falls July 7 and 8, 2008. We stayed at the
Marriott Hotel overlooking Horseshoe Falls on the 23rd Floor.
What a beautiful view we had. The weather was just perfect too!
